Rebuilt twice, and still standing.
Yuemei Elementary opened in 1914 as a two-year "Aboriginal Children's Public School," but its original campus was washed away by floods not once but twice, in 1917 and 1922, forcing relocation each time. It became a full six-year school in 1941 and took its current name in 1968. Notably, today's Shoufeng Elementary School was once Yuemei's branch campus before splitting off in 1917 to become independent — making Yuemei one of the parent institutions of Shoufeng Township's school network.
