Xinyi Elementary School

Xinyi Elementary began life on September 1, 1966, as a branch of nearby Zhongzheng Elementary, becoming an independent school two years later on August 1, 1968. Its campus sits on the former site of the Hualien City health bureau. In 1983, the Ministry of Education designated Xinyi as an experimental research school for its mathematics curriculum, a distinction that has shaped the school's academic identity ever since. The school is also known for a student string ensemble that performs charity concerts in the community.

信義國小於民國55年（1966年）9月1日以中正國小分校身分成立，兩年後（民國57年，1968年8月1日）獨立設校。校址原為花蓮市衛生所所在地。民國72年（1983年），教育部指定信義國小為數學課程實驗研究學校，這項定位延續至今，塑造了學校的學術特色。此外，學校的學生弦樂團經常於社區演出慈善音樂會，廣受好評。
