Xikou Elementary opened in August 1947 as a branch of Fengli National School, becoming independent in 1951 and taking its current name in 1968. The school carries an Indigenous-focus designation, with Amis students making up about 67% of enrollment as of 2018. A signature feature of campus life is its on-campus ecological farm, which ties classroom learning directly to the agricultural land that surrounds the school.
溪口國小創立於民國36年（1947年）8月，最初為豐裡國校分校，1951年獨立設校，並於民國57年（1968年）確立現名。學校為原住民重點學校，截至2018年阿美族學生約占全校67%。校園生活的一大特色是校內生態農場，將課堂學習與周邊農地緊密結合。
