Heshun Junior High School

Heshun Junior High was decided upon in 1995, with construction beginning in December 1998 and the school opening in 1999. It was established to relieve overcrowding at Anshun Junior High and Wenxian Junior High as Annan's population grew rapidly. The 3.91-hectare campus, built in three phases at a cost of roughly NT$640 million, sits between the former Tainan School for the Intellectually Disabled and Heshun Elementary School, near the National Museum of Taiwan History. It was the 19th junior high school established in Tainan City and, at the time, the northernmost in the city.

和順國中於1995年（民國84年）決議設校，1998年12月動工，1999年正式開校，設校目的在紓解安順國中與文賢國中因安南區人口快速成長帶來的招生壓力。校地3.91公頃，分三期興建，總工程經費約新台幣6.4億元，校址位於原臺南啟智學校（今國立臺南特殊教育學校）與和順國小之間，鄰近國立臺灣歷史博物館。設校當時是臺南市（省轄市時期）第19所國中，也是當時全市最北端的國中。
