Keliao Elementary was founded in 1920 and celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2020. Designated a remote/rural school by the Ministry of Education, it sits directly across from the Nankunshen Daitian Temple, one of Taiwan's most important Wangye-worship pilgrimage temples, near the coast. The school also runs a branch campus, and its surrounding oyster-farming village is known for oyster-shell-powder art using local oyster shells as an art medium.
蚵寮國小創立於民國9年（1920年），2020年歡慶建校百週年，並經教育部核定為偏遠學校。學校正對南鯤鯓代天府——台灣王爺信仰最重要的進香聖地之一，鄰近海岸。學校另設有分班，周邊的蚵寮聚落則以利用蚵殼製作的「蚵粉藝術」聞名。
