Hebin Elementary School

Hebin Elementary School's history stretches back to the Japanese colonial era, when it operated as 千歲公學校 (its exact founding year is not documented in available records). It was one of only three elementary schools serving the entire Sanmin District as of 1946, a measure of how much the district has grown since. The school was renamed 河濱國小 in 1947 — "河濱" meaning "riverside" — a direct reference to its location on Shizhong 1st Road, near the banks of the Love River (愛河).
