Guting Elementary School

Guting Elementary School was formed in 1937, during the Japanese colonial era, through the merger of three earlier village schools — Tuwei, Guoling, and a Dafu branch classroom — under the original name "Guting Main Public School." The school survived catastrophic damage from Typhoon Oper in 1972 and rebuilt to become a pioneer for the whole county: in 1982, it was the first school in Yilan County to implement a school lunch program. Its efforts were recognized nationally in 2012 with the Ministry of Education's Teaching Excellence Gold Award, and the school has run an attached kindergarten since 1997.

古亭國小於1937年（昭和12年，日治時期）由「土圍公學校」、「過嶺公學校」與「大福分教場」三所學校合併而成，最初名為「古亭本公學校」。學校歷經1972年歐珀颱風的重創，浴火重生後成為全縣先驅：民國71年（1982年），古亭國小是全宜蘭縣第一所實施營養午餐的學校。這份努力於民國101年（2012年）獲教育部教學卓越金質獎肯定，學校並自1997年起附設幼兒園。
