The school that waited its turn.
Changliu Elementary serves Changliu Village in Guoxing Township. Unlike most schools in the area, its campus was not badly damaged in the catastrophic 1999 921 earthquake. But because neighboring schools with more urgent structural damage were rebuilt with new facilities first, Changliu's campus became relatively the oldest in the area — and the Ministry of Education did not rebuild it until roughly nine years after 921.
