Guolu Elementary School

Guolu Elementary began in April 1921 as a satellite classroom of Yizhu Public School, was upgraded to a six-year branch school in 1924, and became independent in April 1939. It was renamed several times after 1945 and again after the 1950 county reorganization, taking its current name in August 1968 under the nine-year compulsory education reform — making it over 100 years old today. The school once ran its own Heshun branch (added 1951) and Xinfu branch (added 1956), both of which later became independent schools in their own right. Its attached kindergarten dates to 1988, and the school maintains strong indigenous and local-language instruction alongside environmental, gender-equality, and traffic-safety education.

過路國小於大正10年（1921年）4月以義竹公學校過路子分離教室之姿起步，1924年升格為六年制分教場，1939年4月獨立設校。1945年後及1950年嘉義設縣後歷經多次更名，最終於民國57年（1968年）8月九年國教改制後定名為現名，至今已逾百年歷史。學校曾設有和順分校（1951年設立）與新富分校（1956年設立），兩者後來皆各自獨立設校。附設幼兒園創立於民國77年（1988年），學校持續推動原住民族語與在地語言教學，並重視環境教育、性別平等與交通安全教育。
