Guohua Junior High was established in 1970, splitting off from Luodong Junior High as Taiwan introduced nine-year compulsory education nationwide. It now enrolls roughly 1,071 students across 40 classes, drawing children not only from Luodong itself but from the neighboring townships of Dongshan, Sanxing, and Datong. The school runs a gifted-education class alongside music-focused programs, including a Chinese orchestra and a wind ensemble.
國華國中創立於民國59年（1970年），為台灣全面實施九年國民義務教育之際，自羅東國中分出獨立設校。目前全校約1,071名學生、40個班級，招收範圍不僅限於羅東鎮，更涵蓋冬山、三星、大同等鄰近鄉鎮的學童。學校設有資優班，並發展音樂班、國樂團與管樂團等音樂特色課程。
