Nearly eighty years of secondary education in Guiren.

Guiren Junior High School was founded in 1946 as "Tainan County Xinfeng Junior High School," under its first principal, Zhuang Shaoming. It became a complete secondary school in 1958, before the 1968 reform that introduced nine-year compulsory education split it back into a junior-high-only institution, renamed "Tainan County Guiren Junior High School." After Tainan's county–city merger in 2010, it took its current name, "Tainan Municipal Guiren Junior High School." Today the school runs music- and dance-talent programs and a mid-term bilingual-education development plan, alongside selective basketball and badminton teams.

Guiren Junior High's 1946 founding predates the district's transformation into a rail-transit hub, reflecting an earlier era when Guiren was a farming township and secondary education was a hard-won local achievement. Since then, the arrival of the Tainan High Speed Rail Station has reshaped the district around it. See the Tainan county page for more on the region.
