Guanting Elementary School

Guanting Elementary School traces its roots to 1940, when it was established as a branch campus of Neimen National School called '內門國民學校觀音亭分校場' — its records date the founding using the Republic of China calendar (ROC year 29), even though Taiwan was under Japanese colonial rule at the time, a calendar convention rather than a claim about sovereignty. The school became independent in 1946 as 'Kaohsiung County Neimen Township Guanyinting National School,' and was renamed Guanting Elementary in 1951. In 1966, one of its own branch campuses, 內東分班, split off to become 西門國民學校 (Ximen National School). Today it is designated a remote-area (偏遠/特偏) school.

觀亭國小的歷史可追溯至1940年，當時以「內門國民學校觀音亭分校場」之名設立分校，校史記錄採用民國紀年（民國29年），雖然當時台灣仍在日治時期，此為曆法換算慣例，並非主權主張。1946年獨立設校，定名「高雄縣內門鄉觀音亭國民學校」，1951年更名為觀亭國小。1966年，校內的內東分班獨立分出，成為西門國民學校。現為偏遠（特偏）地區學校。
