Guantian Elementary School was founded in 1913 as a branch of Liujia Public School. It became independent in 1918 as "Guandian Public School," was renamed "Guantian Public School" in 1920, and took its current name, Guantian Elementary School, in 1968. Over a century old, it serves as the anchor elementary school of the district seat, located a short distance from the water-rail wetlands and water-chestnut paddies for which Guantian is best known.
官田國小創立於民國2年（1913年），前身為六甲公學校分校。民國7年（1918年）獨立設校，命名「官佃公學校」，民國9年（1920年）改名「官田公學校」，民國57年（1968年）定名為現今的官田國小。作為已逾百年歷史的學校，官田國小是官田區行政中心的核心國小，鄰近讓官田聞名的水雉溼地與菱角田。
