Guanshan Elementary School

Guanshan Elementary was founded in 1906 under Japanese colonial rule as "台東廳里壟公學校," making it one of the oldest schools in the entire Taitung Rift Valley — predating the founding of the Republic of China by six years. The school was renamed several times over the following decades before settling on its current name in 1968. Its campus backs onto Nanshan and Yunshui mountains and faces the Xinwuluxi River, and today it operates a swimming pool and a community multi-functional learning center that serves residents well beyond the student body.

關山國小創立於日治明治39年（1906年），初名「台東廳里壟公學校」，是整個臺東縱谷歷史最悠久的學校之一——創校時間甚至早於中華民國建國六年。往後數十年間歷經多次更名，直到民國57年（1968年）才定名為現名。校園背倚南山與雲水山，面對新武呂溪，現今設有游泳池與社區多功能學習中心，服務範圍遠超出在校學生。
