Guangxing Elementary was established as a branch school on September 1, 1952, and became a fully independent elementary school on August 1, 1976. The school celebrated its 70th anniversary across 2024 and 2025. For a time, it oversaw its own branch campus at Kelin, which went on to become an independent school in its own right in 1964. Today Guangxing remains a small rural elementary school serving Dongshan Township's countryside.
廣興國小於民國41年（1952年）9月1日以分校形式成立，並於民國65年（1976年）8月1日正式獨立設校。學校在民國113至114年（2024–2025年）間歡慶建校70週年。學校一度設有柯林分校，該分校後於民國53年（1964年）獨立設校。如今廣興國小仍是服務冬山鄉鄉村地區的一所小型學校。
