The second junior high of Gongguan Township.
Hegang Junior High was founded in 1970, becoming the second of Gongguan Township's two junior high schools alongside Gongguan Junior High. Located in Hegang Village, the school takes its name from the area's distinctive "crane hill" (鶴子岡) geography — a landform whose shape reportedly resembles a resting crane. As the newer of Gongguan's two junior highs, Hegang helped expand secondary school access for the township's growing population in the early 1970s.
