Over a century on Gongguan's crane ridge.
Hegang Elementary's roots trace back to a branch established around 1907, becoming an independent school in 1911 as the "Hezaigang Public School" during the Japanese colonial era. Over a century later, the school still serves roughly 209 students in the hilly farmland around Hegang ("crane ridge") Village. Its longstanding mission — to "raise academic ability, strengthen physical fitness, cultivate character, and inspire creativity" — has guided generations of local Hakka families.
