Fugong Elementary School

Fugong Elementary School began preparations in 1993 and formally opened in 1996, with its first students housed at Mingzheng Elementary while its own campus was under construction. It is one of the newest elementary schools in Cianjhen District. Its name, "佛公" (Fugong), comes from a local temple: early settlers from Zhangzhou brought a statue of the Puan Patriarch (普庵公) to the area, and over time the deity's title was colloquially mispronounced as "佛仔公," giving the neighborhood — and eventually the school — its name.

佛公國小於民國82年（1993年）成立籌備處，民國85年（1996年）正式招生，首屆學生曾借用明正國小校舍上課，是前鎮區最新設立的國小之一。校名「佛公」源自地方廟宇——早期漳州移民將普庵公神像請至此地供奉，「普庵公」在地方口語中訛音為「佛仔公」，這個稱呼逐漸演變為地名，進而成為校名。
