Fucheng's junior high section was established in 1991, initially borrowing classrooms from nearby Wujia Junior High because the single existing junior high could no longer serve the fast-growing Wujia population. The school moved onto its own campus in 1995, added a senior high section in 2000, and became a Kaohsiung municipal school after the 2010 city-county merger.
福誠國中部創立於民國80年（1991年），創校初期借用鄰近五甲國中的教室，因當時唯一的五甲國中已無法容納快速成長的五甲地區人口。學校於民國84年（1995年）遷入自有校地，民國89年（2000年）增設高中部，並於2010年高雄縣市合併後改制為市立學校。
