Fubei Junior High School

Fubei Junior High was established in 1967 and officially opened on January 1, 1969, after community leaders launched a local land-donation drive in 1966 to meet Taiwan's newly mandated nine years of compulsory education. The school's first principal initially had to borrow classrooms from nearby Dongzhu Elementary while the new campus was under construction. Fubei later spun off a branch campus in Dongli in 1974, which became independent as Dongli Junior High in 1982. Today the school sits at the foot of Liushishishan, the mountain famous across Taiwan for its terraced day-lily fields.

富北國中創立於民國56年（1967年），民國58年（1969年）1月1日正式開學，緣起於民國55年（1966年）地方領袖發起的捐地運動，以因應台灣新實施的九年國民義務教育。學校首任校長在新校舍興建期間，最初曾向鄰近的東竹國小借用教室上課。富北國中後於民國63年（1974年）在東里設立分部，於民國71年（1982年）獨立為東里國中。如今學校座落於六十石山腳下——這座以金針花梯田聞名全台的山丘。
