A junior high funded by the harbor economy.
Fongxiang Junior High opened in 2012, funded by the Kaohsiung Port and Harbor Bureau as an offset project tied to the Kaohsiung Port Intercontinental Container Center. Among its distinctions is what is described as Taiwan's first solar-powered covered basketball court — an unusual feature for a school of its size and age. Its founding links Fongshan, an inland district, directly to Kaohsiung's harbor and container-shipping industry.
