Fongshan Senior High traces its origins to 1939, when it opened during the Japanese colonial era as a horticultural training school. It was reorganized into a national senior high school in 2000, and today enrolls roughly 1,934 students across some 55 classes. The school sits within old Fongshan, the historic seat of Fongshan County under Qing rule, and offers dedicated math and science gifted-education classes alongside a wide range of foreign-language electives.
