Taipei's first public experimental complete school.
Fanghe's campus opened in August 1976 as Taipei Municipal Fanghe Junior High School, on a site vacated when Minzu Junior High relocated to Roosevelt Road. In the 2018 school year it was converted into an experimental junior high, and in August 2021 it added a senior-high division and took its present name, becoming Taipei's first publicly run experimental “complete school” spanning both junior and senior grades. Its curriculum is built around three ideas — exploration, cross-disciplinary learning, and expeditions (探索．跨域．遠征).
芳和的校舍於民國65年（1976年）8月啟用，初名「臺北市立芳和國民中學」，校地為民族國中遷往羅斯福路後所留下。107學年度改制為實驗國中，民國110年（2021年）8月增設高中部並更名為「芳和實驗中學」，成為全台北市第一所公辦完全實驗中學，課程以「探索．跨域．遠征」為核心理念。
