From a village branch school to a growing campus.
Erchong Junior High began in 1956 as a branch of Zhudong Junior High before becoming an independent school in 1962. Located in Erchong Village — an area of Zhudong that expanded alongside the township's commercial and residential growth — the school has kept pace with a rising student population: the county government has approved a self-funded expansion of roughly NT$390 million to accommodate continued enrollment growth. Today the campus runs 39 student clubs, from varsity volleyball to its long-running wind-band program.
