A name rooted in the settlers' stockades.

Ercheng Elementary traces its origin to 1913, when it opened as a branch of Touwei Public School under the name It became fully independent in 1920 as Taipei Prefecture Erwei Public School, relocated in 1942, and took its present name, 二城國民小學, in 1968. Today the school runs energy education, arts enrichment, mother-tongue and indigenous-language instruction days, and environmental education, alongside a non-categorical special-education resource classroom.
