Duga Elementary School

Duga Elementary began in 1948 as a branch of Hougang Elementary and became an independent school in 1959. It is a very small school — roughly 88 students and staff combined, across 6 classes, on a campus of about 2 hectares surrounded by fish ponds and farmland. Duga village itself is notable as the largest single-surname settlement in Taiwan, overwhelmingly populated by families named Qiu. At the school's 60th-anniversary celebration in 2020, about 80% of the distinguished alumni honored were also surnamed Qiu, directly reflecting the village's single-clan makeup.

篤加國小創校於民國37年（1948年），最初為後港國小的分校，民國48年（1959年）獨立設校。是一所規模極小的學校——全校師生合計約88人，共6班，校地約2公頃，四周環繞魚塭與農地。篤加村本身以台灣最大單姓聚落聞名，村內居民絕大多數姓邱。學校於2020年舉辦建校六十週年慶祝活動時，受表揚的傑出校友中約有八成同樣姓邱，直接反映了村落的單一宗族結構。
