A school named for the neighborhoods it serves.
Dong-Xing Junior High opened in August 2015, its name combining "東" from Dongping Village and "興" from Zhongxing Village — the two communities the new school was built to serve. In 2016, students temporarily borrowed classrooms at nearby An-Xing Elementary for about 10 weeks before moving into the permanent campus. The school graduated its first class in 2019, and by the 111th school year enrolled roughly 1,699 students across 62 classes, reflecting the rapid growth of the surrounding district.

The school graduated its first class in 2019, just four years after opening — a milestone that marked its transition from a brand-new campus to an established part of the community.
Built for a rezoned county seat.
Dong-Xing is a textbook case of Zhubei's rezoned "county government district" — a school built from scratch to serve the wave of young families who moved in as the area urbanized around the new county seat.
