Dongguang Junior High School

Dongguang Junior High began in 1957 as a branch of Luodong Junior High, gaining independence in 1963 under the name Dongguang Junior Middle School and adopting its current name in 1968. In 1994, it became the first school in Yilan County to establish an art gifted-and-talented class — a program that remains the only one of its kind in Luodong Township. The school has also operated a supplementary evening school since 1986, and its old school gate has been preserved and recognized as a heritage landmark.

東光國中創立於民國46年（1957年），最初為羅東國中分校，民國52年（1963年）獨立設校，初名「東光初級中學」，民國57年（1968年）更為現名。民國83年（1994年），該校成為宜蘭縣第一所設立美術資優班的學校，至今仍是羅東鎮唯一的美術資優班。學校自民國75年（1986年）起附設補校，其保存下來的舊校門也已被列為文化資產地標。
