電光國小創立於日治昭和17年(1942年),初名「關山泉學校日出國語講習所」,民國35年(1946年)獨立設校,民國57年(1968年)定名為現名。學校座落於關山鎮偏遠的電光部落山區,以彩繪校舍、週末「遊學」課程與豐富的校園植物生態聞名,堪稱特色學校典範。學校積極推廣阿美族文化,並舉辦教育旅遊活動,吸引訪客走進這座山中小村。
