A school serving a migrating community's descendants.

Dewu Elementary opened in 1949 as a branch of Chunri Elementary, became independent in 1952, and took its current name in 1968. The school serves Dewu Village, home to Xiuguluan Amis residents whose ancestors migrated from Bazai near Fengbin roughly 120 years ago, with later arrivals coming from the Qimei mountain area. This layered migration history gives Dewu's Amis community a distinct identity within the broader Hua-Tung Valley.
