Denan Elementary School was established in August 1962 as “Tainan County Rende Township Denan Elementary School,” splitting off from Rende Elementary School as the local population grew. Its first principal was Yang Shui. The school initially had 12 classes for grades 1-3 on a 1.7-hectare campus with ten buildings, and was renamed again in August 1969. Today it occupies a 2-hectare campus with about 30 classes and 1,030 students, making it one of the larger elementary schools in this batch.
德南國小創校於民國51年（1962年）8月，初名「台南縣仁德鄉德南國民小學」，因仁德地區人口成長自仁德國小分出設校，首任校長為楊水。創校初期僅設1至3年級共12班，校地約1.7公頃、十棟校舍。民國58年（1969年）8月再次更名。現校地約2公頃，全校約30班、1,030名學生，是此批學校中規模較大者之一。
