Degao Elementary opened in 1950 as a branch of Guanshan Elementary School, becoming fully independent in 1954. The school serves a community of mostly Indigenous and Hakka farming families living between Guanshan Town and neighboring Haiduan Township. Over the years, it has built a strong reputation for its baseball education program, a sport with deep roots throughout Taitung County's Rift Valley communities.
德高國小成立於民國39年(1950年),最初為關山國小分校,民國43年(1954年)獨立設校。學校服務關山鎮與鄰近海端鄉之間,以原住民與客家農村家庭為主的社區。多年來,學校在棒球教育方面建立了良好聲譽,這項運動在臺東縱谷各社區有著深厚的根基。
