Profile

Ancient ground, and a home for displaced students.

Dayuan Elementary was founded in 1903, during the Japanese colonial era, as a branch facility, becoming a fully independent school in 1906. It is the largest elementary school by campus area in Taoyuan City, and its grounds sit within the Dayuan Jianshan Archaeological Site (大園尖山遺址), designated a county-protected heritage site in 2008. The school built a new main gate in 2003, reoriented to face Zhongshan South Road, with continued facility modernization — including digital-learning upgrades — through 2022. In recent years, Dayuan Elementary has also absorbed transferred students from several nearby elementary schools closed in 2024 due to the Taoyuan Aerotropolis project: Shalun, Zhentou, Houcuo, and Chenkang.
