大隱國小起源於民國34年（1945年）9月，最初僅為萬富國小的一間分班教室，服務偏遠農村大隱地區。學生人數穩定成長，至民國36年（1947年）已擴增為四個班級，民國37年（1948年）正式獨立設校。其源自小型分班教室的歷史，反映了三星鄉分散式農村聚落的地理特色。
