Datong Elementary School

Datong Elementary School began in September 1954 as the "Jinxue Elementary School Dalin Branch" (進學國校大林分校) under branch director Xu Ben, becoming an independent school in September 1955 as "Tainan City East District Datong National School." Its modern reputation, however, rests on a long run of technology-education partnerships: in 2006 it became a National Tainan University collaborative development school hosting NUTN's Datong Experimental Center, in 2008 it partnered with Microsoft Taiwan on a "school of the future" initiative, and in 2014 it partnered with Samsung Taiwan to establish a "SMART School" smart classroom. The school is recognized as a Ministry of Education "Reading Cornerstone" school and character-education model school, and won MOE awards for tech-integrated teaching and mobile learning in 2017, followed by selection for the 2018 MOE digital-learning deepening program.

大同國小前身為1954年（民國43年）9月成立的「進學國校大林分校」，首任分校主任為許本，1955年（民國44年）9月獨立設校，定名為「臺南市東區大同國民學校」。學校現今聲名主要來自一系列教育科技合作：2006年成為國立臺南大學合作發展學校，校內設有南大大同實驗中心；2008年與台灣微軟合作推動「未來學校」計畫；2014年與台灣三星合作建置「SMART School」智慧教室。學校並獲教育部認證為「閱讀磐石」學校及品格教育典範學校，2017年獲教育部科技融入教學暨行動學習獎項，2018年入選教育部數位學習深耕計畫。
