About · 學校簡介

Built for a fast-growing eastern suburb.

Founded in 2003, Da Ciao Junior High School is one of the newest junior highs in Yongkang District, built specifically to serve the fast-growing Dongqiao (東橋) and Dawan residential area east of the district center. The school enrolls about 1,380 students and is now on its fourth principal since founding. Its emblem is a leaf- or kite-shaped design symbolizing growth, paired with a white curved line symbolizing "bridge-building" — a nod to the school's name, 大橋, meaning "big bridge." Students take part in an active club program that includes kabaddi, wood ball, and a scout service corps, alongside standard sports and music clubs.

🏘️

Sited in the Dongqiao (東橋) area, the school's very name and 2003 founding date mark the last wave of Yongkang's school-building boom, driven by the district absorbing overflow population from central Tainan through the 1990s–2000s. See the Tainan county page for more on the region.
