Dapo Junior High School

Dapo Junior High began in 1977 as a branch campus of Xinwu Junior High before becoming an independent Taoyuan County school in 1981, and taking its current municipal name in 2014. The school is best known locally as "Ceramic Dapo" (陶藝大坡): every student, across all three years, takes a mandatory ceramics curriculum covering coil-building, slab-building, and wheel-throwing. It is reportedly the only junior high in the former county with a dedicated ceramics classroom — equipped with a vacuum pugmill, air compressor, precision scale, glazes and clay, a kiln that fires above 1,000°C, and even a wood-fired kiln. The school sits beside its sister elementary school, Dapo Elementary, in the same rural Xinwu neighborhood.

大坡國中創立於1977年（民國66年），最初為新屋國中大坡分部，1981年（民國70年）獨立設校，2014年隨桃園縣升格直轄市更名為市立大坡國中。學校在地方上以「陶藝大坡」聞名——全校學生三年間都必須修習陶藝課程，內容涵蓋手捏、板建與拉坯技法。據稱這是（原）桃園縣唯一設有專業陶藝教室的國中，配備真空練土機、空壓機、精密秤重器、釉藥與陶土，以及可燒至1000°C以上的窯爐，還設有柴燒窯。校址與姊妹校大坡國小相鄰，同處新屋鄉間。
