A remote-area school with a Siraya heritage branch.
Danei Elementary School's history dates to 1912, when it began as the “Neizhuang” branch of Liujia Public School; it became independent as “Neizhuang Public School” on April 1, 1917, and was renamed “Danei Public School” on October 1, 1920. Classified today as a remote-area (偏遠地區) school, it operates a branch campus at Toushe (頭社分校) — the site of the famous annual Siraya “Night Sacrifice” (頭社太祖夜祭), held every year on the 14th-15th of the 10th lunar month. The Toushe area is promoted in local tourism as “Mariyang,” Siraya for “beautiful,” centered on the branch school and the adjacent Siraya communal worship hall (公廨).

Danei Elementary's Toushe branch campus sits at the heart of Danei's Siraya indigenous heritage — the Toushe Night Sacrifice is one of the most intact surviving Siraya ceremonial traditions in Taiwan, held at the public worship hall (公廨) just steps from the branch school.
