Dali Elementary began in 1964 as a branch campus of Daxi Elementary School before becoming independent. Located in Shicheng Village near the foot of Caoling Pass, at the historic site known as "大里簡," the school has run night-tutoring programs for rural children since 2008. In July 2025, it completed a brand-new campus building — a NT$139 million, three-story, nine-classroom structure designed with a "terraced rice field" motif that offers panoramic views of Turtle Island, drawing wide press coverage.
大里國小前身為民國53年（1964年）設立的大溪國小大里分班，後獨立設校。校址位於石城里、草嶺古道山腳下的歷史聚落「大里簡」。學校自民國97年（2008年）起推動偏鄉夜間課輔。民國114年（2025年）7月，斥資新台幣1.39億元興建的全新校舍落成，三層樓、九間教室，以「梯田」意象設計，可俯瞰龜山島全景，廣受媒體報導。
