Dakeng Elementary School

Dakeng Elementary's exact founding date is not confirmed in available records, but the school's own 80th-anniversary commemorative publication points to an origin in the early-to-mid 1940s. In January 2018, it was designated a pilot 'bilingual innovation' school starting from first grade, and the Taoyuan City Government has since promoted it as a flagship site for bilingual education. The school runs eight signature curriculum tracks — spanning bilingual education, smart classrooms, outdoor and mountain-wilderness education, hands-on agriculture, international pen-pal exchanges with schools in Canada and the Philippines, character education, whole-school reading, and diverse student clubs — from a campus originally sited within a forest-conservation area near Linkou.
