A school built to solve overcrowding.
Dacheng Junior High began life in May 1980 as a preparatory committee working out of Bade Junior High's offices, tasked with planning a new “Danan branch school.” It was formally established as Taoyuan County Dacheng Junior High School in 1982, but for its first years it had no campus of its own — classes borrowed rooms from Dacheng Elementary and Da'an Elementary until a new building was finished in March 1983. Located in Bade's Danan (大湳) area, the school was renamed Taoyuan Municipal Dacheng Junior High School in 2014.

A school built to solve overcrowding.
Dacheng Junior High's founding story — literally born out of overcrowding at other Bade schools, with borrowed classrooms until a permanent building could be finished — illustrates how quickly Bade's population outgrew existing school infrastructure during Taiwan's 1980s industrial boom.
