Renhe Elementary took its current name in July 1965. Its Taihe Branch campus has a much older lineage, tracing to 1942 as a branch classroom of Shengmaoshu National School, becoming independent in 1945 as "Geliwei National School," and passing through several renamings — Meishan Township's Fifth National School (1946), Tainan County Meishan Township Taihe National School (1947), Chiayi County Meishan Township Taihe National School (1950), and Taihe National Elementary School (1968) — before finally becoming Renhe Elementary's Taihe Branch in August 2023. Today the school is exceptionally small: the main campus has only 8 elementary students plus 5 kindergarteners, while the Taihe branch has 5 elementary students plus 4 kindergarteners.
仁和國小現名確立於民國54年（1965年）7月。其太和分校歷史更為悠久，可追溯至民國31年（1942年）設立的「生毛樹國民學校蛤里味分校場」，民國34年（1945年）獨立為「蛤里味國民學校」，其後歷經多次更名——梅山鄉第五國民學校（1946）、台南縣梅山鄉太和國校（1947）、嘉義縣梅山鄉太和國民學校（1950）、太和國民小學（1968）——最終於民國112年（2023年）8月1日成為「仁和國小太和分校」。如今學校規模極小：本校僅8名國小學生、5名幼兒園學生；太和分校則有5名國小學生、4名幼兒園學生。
