Danan Elementary School

Danan Elementary opened in 1920, during the Japanese colonial era, as "Danan Ordinary Elementary School" for the children of Japanese settlers, preceded by an even earlier 1919 branch classroom of Tungshihchiao Ordinary Higher Elementary School. After Taiwan's 1945 retrocession, the school was reestablished as "Danan National School" in 1946 under its first postwar principal, Chen Deqing. Today it offers a resource class (established 1995) and tracks school-lunch allergens across 11 major categories, reflecting a modern approach to student care in a school with more than a century of history.

大南國小創立於大正9年（1920年）日治時期，原名「大南尋常小學校」，服務日籍移民子弟；更早之前，大正8年（1919年）已有「東勢角尋常高等小學校大南分教場」的前身。1945年台灣光復後，首任戰後校長陳德慶於民國35年（1946年）將學校重建為「大南國民學校」。學校於1995年設立資源班，並針對11大類過敏原追蹤午餐內容，展現百年老校在現代學生照護上的用心。
