National Chiayi Senior High School traces its founding to 1924, when it opened under Japanese rule as Tainan Prefecture Chiayi Middle School. It took its present name in 2000, and today sits on an 11-hectare campus on Xuling Ridge near the Lantan Reservoir scenic area. Over the course of a century, the school has graduated more than 80,000 alumni and remains one of the most sought-after senior highs in the Chiayi-Yunlin region.
嘉義高中創校於1924年（大正13年），日治時期名為臺南州立嘉義中學校，於民國89年（2000年）改為現名「國立嘉義高級中學」。校園座落於仙嶺、鄰近蘭潭風景區，佔地約11公頃。建校百年來已培育超過八萬名校友，至今仍是嘉雲地區學子心目中的第一志願之一。
