Ci-Xin Waldorf School is not a conventional public school. It is Taiwan's first and best-known Waldorf (Steiner-inspired) school, born from founder Zhang Chun-shu's encounter with Waldorf education in Stuttgart, Germany, in 1990. What began in 1996 as early-childhood Waldorf education grew into a formal elementary division by 2000, and in August 2002 it became an officially registered public-private-partnership school, sharing a campus with Dongshan Elementary School's Xiangnan branch. The school extended to a full K-9 program in 2005, and by 2015 it had built out a complete 12-year continuous Waldorf curriculum — the first of its kind in Taiwan — with a secondary high-school campus in nearby Su'ao. 慈心華德福並非一般公立學校，而是全台灣第一所、也是最具知名度的華德福（史代納）教育學校。其源起可追溯至創辦人張純淑女士於民國79年（1990年）在德國斯圖加特接觸華德福教育的經歷。學校自民國85年（1996年）以幼兒階段的華德福教育起步，至民國89年（2000年）發展出正式的小學部，並於民國91年（2002年）8月正式立案為公私協力學校，與冬山國小向南分校共用校地。民國94年（2005年）擴展為完整的國中小九年一貫課程，至民國104年（2015年）進一步建立全台第一套完整的十二年一貫華德福課程，並在鄰近的蘇澳設有高中部校區。本頁介紹的是義務教育階段的「國中小」部分。
