Wulin Elementary School was founded on April 1, 1943, during the Japanese colonial era, under its founding principal, a Japanese national named Okada Kasagō. Over eighty years later, the school continues to serve the Donglin area of Ciaotou District, part of the dense network of rural schools built out across Taiwan before 1945.
五林國小創立於1943年(民國32年)4月1日,正值日治時期,創校校長為日籍人士岡田笠吾。八十多年後的今天,學校仍持續服務橋頭區東林一帶的學童,是台灣1945年以前密集建立的鄉村學校網絡之一。
