A school that crossed from one era into the next.

Chunri Elementary opened in 1940 under Japanese rule as "春日公學校," making it one of the last schools founded before the end of the colonial era in 1945. The transition from the Japanese public-school system to Republic of China administration happened directly at this campus, giving it a front-row seat to one of the most significant transitions in Taiwan's modern history. Today, the school runs a dedicated Indigenous mother-tongue teaching program, keeping local language instruction a living part of its curriculum.
