Chung-Hsing Junior High School was founded in 1968 (ROC 57) in Nantou City. When the devastating 921 earthquake of 1999 destroyed the original campus, the Tzu Chi Foundation stepped in to help rebuild the school between 2000 and 2002 — a defining chapter in the school's history and a symbol of the community's post-disaster recovery. Today the school serves about 1,653 students across 57 classes, with one gifted class and one sports class offered per grade, alongside facilities including a pottery studio and music and science labs.
中興國中創立於民國57年（1968年），校址位於南投市。民國88年（1999年）921大地震摧毀了原有校舍，慈濟基金會於民國89年至91年（2000-2002年）協助重建校園，成為學校歷史上重要的一頁，也象徵著社區的災後重生。如今學校約有1,653名學生，分為57個班級，每個年級皆設有資優班與體育班各一班，並設有陶藝教室、音樂教室與科學實驗室等設施。
