Chongming Junior High School

Chongming Junior High School was established in August 1991 to relieve overcrowding caused by East District's rapid population growth, with planning having begun back in 1988. Construction started in January 1991, and although the school opened that August, it had to temporarily borrow classrooms at Chongxue Elementary School until its own buildings were finished in November 1991. The original 4.29-hectare campus was later expanded by 0.88 hectares through the "South Tainan Station" (南台南站) sub-center land readjustment project, bringing the total campus area to 5.17 hectares.

崇明國中於1991年（民國80年）8月創校，係為紓解東區人口快速成長所帶來的就學壓力而興建，早在1988年即已展開規劃作業。1991年1月動工，同年8月開學，惟因校舍尚未完工，初期須暫時借用崇學國小教室上課，直到同年11月校舍完工後才遷入。原本4.29公頃的校地，其後因「南台南站」副都心土地重劃案再擴增0.88公頃，總校地面積達5.17公頃。
