Chongde Elementary was founded in 1929 under Japanese colonial rule as "得其黎蕃童教育所," an education post for Indigenous children, before relocating and being renamed Chongde National School in 1947. The school sits on the Suhua Highway at the northern tip of Xiulin Township, about 9 kilometers from the Taroko National Park Visitor Center. With roughly 105 students, of whom about 98% are Truku, Chongde is one of the most culturally concentrated Truku-education campuses in the township, teaching the "four pillars" of Truku national education as a core part of its curriculum.
崇德國小創立於1929年日治時期,最初名為「得其黎蕃童教育所」,專為原住民學童設立,1947年遷址並更名為崇德國民學校。學校座落於蘇花公路旁,位於秀林鄉最北端,距太魯閣國家公園遊客中心約9公里。全校約105名學生中,約98%為太魯閣族,是全鄉太魯閣族文化最集中的校園之一,並將太魯閣族「四大主軸」教育內容納入核心課程。
